How The Paravelle Ball Was Born — From a Dream to Reality

The Paravelle Fantasy Ball, a Los Angeles Dream

Every once in a while, a whimsical idea whispered during a lunch break becomes something real. Something that blooms into a fantasy realm of glowing lanterns, glittering gowns, and stories told through movement, color, and community. That’s how The Paravelle Ball began — a wild, wonderful idea between three creative women who simply asked:

"What if we had our own fantasy ball in Los Angeles?"

And then, against all odds, we made it happen.

The Dreamers Behind the Magic

We’re a trio of dreamers and makers — Juliette, Manon, and me, Natasha. What started as late-night fantasy chats and whimsical photo shoots quickly became a mission to craft real-life magic for other people who, like us, grew up hoping Narnia might appear behind the closet door.

Juliette is the visionary behind Paravelle — our founder and fearless fantasy general. A filmmaker and fantasy content creator, she’s been building the world of Paravelle for years. She’s the reason our crazy ideas turn into actual events. Without her organization, I’d probably still be off in a corner designing fae court banners and forgetting to send an email. I joke that she keeps me out of the chaos spiral, but it’s true — she’s the one who gets things done with grace, humor, and spreadsheet wizardry.

Manon is our ethereal heart — calm, collected, wildly talented. She’s been in the entertainment industry for over a decade, and whether she’s casting characters, painting sets, or doing backflips in heels (yes, really), she brings grounded beauty to everything we do. She's also one of the kindest humans I know — our fairy princess and resident romantic.

And me? I’m Natasha — the mad scientist of the group. I shoot fantasy photography and create the art that goes along with the ball, and I’m constantly hopping between ten creative projects at once. I'm the one that gets too excited and says "what if we just—" and then jumps into it with zero hesitation. A workaholic in elf ears, basically.

How We Found Each Other

We met in the most unexpected ways. I discovered Juliette through a model search while prepping a shoot — I remember her Model Mayhem profile and thinking, how is she not already on TV? And then we met on set. We started talking, and it was over — we both loved fantasy, storytelling, and making the world feel a little more magical.

Juliette introduced me to Manon soon after, and the three of us clicked like we had known each other in some past life — maybe as knights, or star-crossed royals, or time-traveling fae. From there, it was endless fantasy shoots, girls' nights, and Universal Studios escapades. They were the ones who encouraged me to quit my 9-to-5 job of seven years and go full-time with fantasy photography. It was terrifying. It was liberating. And I’ve never looked back.

The Moment It All Began

We were sitting on a patio in LA — probably after a shoot, still in partial costume — when Juliette said, “What if we just did our own fantasy ball?”

There were no bookish fantasy balls in Los Angeles. Nothing that really felt like stepping into a story. Not one that brought together lovers of folklore, fairy tales, fae courts, and high fantasy under one banner.

We said yes immediately.

That same afternoon, we mapped out the world of our first ball — The Fae Court Revelry. We didn’t want to copy any single series or fandom, but rather create something original, inspired by folklore, books, and our collective love for faerie universes. Thus, the Four Courts were born: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter, each with its own aesthetic, backstory, and mood. That day, Paravelle stepped from dream into reality.

Building a World from Scratch

We started with free fantasy community picnics in Los Angeles — whimsical meetups where people could come in costume, take pictures, and just exist in a fantasy space. We met incredible humans, many of whom are now friends, collaborators, or fellow dreamers. If you’ve come to one, thank you. If we haven’t spoken much yet, I’d love to meet you.

We hunted for venues, drew up ideas in discord, and screamed in the studio when our first vendor replied. We designed characters and narratives, shot content on rainy days, and spent countless hours building something that had never existed before.

And we did it together.

Paravelle Isn’t Just a Ball — It’s a Story

We aren’t just hosting a party. We’re creating a living, breathing fantasy. A shared narrative that changes with each event, each character, each guest who walks through the door in costume and becomes part of the world.

We believe everyone deserves a fairytale — not just the ones in stories, but real ones. With dancing, laughter, elegance, swords, drama, mystery, and friendship.

And now, we’re working on our next chapter:
The Vanguard of Valor, a hero-themed ball arriving in July 2025.

It’s a celebration of courage and adventure, inspired by classic high fantasy, RPG quests, and the belief that anyone can be a hero. We've been dreaming about this one since before our first event. And I hope you’ll come write your next adventure with us.
